Dining with Class: Almost Out (Part 5)
Overview:
In this final push outside of the manor the PCs have one last obstacle to deal with, the guards near the entrance. They need to sneak out, hopefully not get the attention of the guards in the nearby room, and then make their way out, then they are out of the dread house.
Initial Description:
As you peer through the door you can see a dreary vestibule, decorated with profane statues. It is gaudy in color and presentation. Two guards standing at the wall to the east. The door they are guarding is clearly the entrance to the guard barracks. The exit is to the west, however that is the direction the guards are looking. What do you do?
Enemies:
Ghouls armed with short swords (2d6 slashing + 2). They follow the same rules of using their equipped weapons until they are at 25% health, at which point they change to the weapons on their stat block.
NPCs:
Only any NPCs the group has found so far. Possibly two from the first room. Also if they managed to break the dancing NPCs out of their curse they may have a large group of people to run out with.
Objectives:
Main: Get Out
Secondary: Don’t alert the guards
Map:
Overview:
The PCs arrive in the western room. The guard room is the room to the east. There are two guards stationed outside the door to at the south east corner. If they are alerted to the presence of the people escaping then they will get back up from the guards in barracks next to them.
Special Mechanics:
Ghouls with Class - The ghouls fight with weapons until the hit 25% health. Once that happens they use the claws on their own stat profile.
Stay Quiet - If the PCs alert the guards then the guards will request help from the next room. This will mean having to deal with many more guards beside just the two that are standing guard.
